Nick joined Access Living in April 2023 as the Economic Justice Policy Analyst.
In his position, Nick works to identify barriers to building wealth amongst people with disabilities, focusing on workforce development, public benefits, and improving access to financial services. He is currently working on projects to phase out the use of subminimum wage for disabled workers in Illinois, expand competitive-integrated employment, and remove asset limits for Medicaid programs and Supplemental Security Income.
Prior to Access Living, Nick worked on numerous political campaigns, including Congresswoman Lauren Underwood, Senator Tammy Duckworth, and Chicago Mayor Brandon Johnson. Nick graduated from Loyola University Chicago with a B.A. in Political Science, with a minor in Spanish, and holds a Certificate in Public Policy and Administration from Northwestern University.
As someone with obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), and a brother with autism, Nick is particularly passionate about neurodiversity issues and the obstacles neurodiverse individuals face daily. When he is not politicking or policy-ing, Nick loves jogging through his neighborhood of Bridgeport, cooking, playing guitar, and discovering new music and new restaurants. Feel free to email him with your favorite restaurant / coffee shop in Chicago!
