Action Alert: Share Your Story About Prescription Drug Mail Delays
August 24, 2020
During the Covid-19 pandemic, there have been many reports that people with disabilities and seniors are experiencing delays in getting mail-order prescription drugs. This past weekend, the U.S. House passed a bill for $25 billion in funding for the U.S. Post Office. Today, the Postmaster General, Louis DeJoy, is testifying before the House Oversight Committee on his desired operational changes to the Post Office. Congress is expected to ask him a lot of questions about the timing, nature, and consequences of the budget cuts he wants to impose.
The U.S. Senate has not yet taken action on funding USPS. We need to help educate the Senate about why thousands of people with disabilities, seniors, and veterans rely on the mail to get prescription drugs. We need YOUR help today!
Access Living wants to hear your stories about problems getting mail-order prescription drugs on time. Please use our easy form at this link to answer some questions about your situation. Access Living’s goal is to help the Senate understand why the Post Office is so important for people with disabilities who rely on getting prescriptions in the mail. You can share your story with us either anonymously, or with your name attached. Our goal is to get stories to the Senate’s staffers ASAP.
Please share this action alert widely with fellow disability and senior advocates. Thank you for your advocacy!
