Bri Beck
Arts & Culture Project Coordinator
Through May 2024, Access Living’s Arts & Culture Program is offering free, individualized peer support that incorporates aspects of art therapy!
Facilitated by disabled-identifying art therapy and counseling graduate students from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, these sessions are are a safe space for disabled-identifying people to process their lived experiences and receive empathic social-emotional support. The creative art-making process will also be incorporated into each session: No previous artistic experience is needed, though anyone who is interested in using the artistic process to grow their art practice or work through their experiences are especially encouraged to participate.
Sessions may take place virtually or in person as needed and are offered throughout the week depending on the facilitators’ schedules.
Please note: This is not a substitute for traditional counseling or therapy.
