On the Passing of CTU President Karen Lewis:
Access Living celebrates the life of Karen Lewis, educator and former Chicago Teachers Union President. Karen, who was not a special education teacher, actively fought for advocacy help for students with disabilities. Access Living continues to advocate for education access and equality for students with disabilities. Karen was a prominent union leader who deeply cared about the school community and its marginalized members. She worked relentlessly to ensure Chicago students and teachers could have access to the services and supports they need.
