Bridget Hayman is Communications Director at Access Living. While heading end-to-end communications and media relations for the organization, Bridget also leads Access Living’s consulting and training services, integrating disability inclusion best practices into the diversity efforts of companies, nonprofits and foundations.
As a wheelchair user herself, Bridget is committed to elevating stories from the disability community each day to ensure that disabled people are heard at every table where decisions are made, and that they have the supports needed to live full independent lives.
Before joining the Access Living team, Bridget held communications roles at Easterseals National, Valence Health, the American Dental Association, Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Illinois, Edelman Digital, and the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago.
Bridget is a 2022 Leadership Greater Chicago Signature Fellow; a board officer for Illinois Humanities; a communications advisor for the Presidents’ Council on Disability Inclusion in Philanthropy; a 2018 University of Chicago Civic Leadership Academy Fellow; a 2017 Disability Lead Fellow, and a Rotary Ambassadorial Scholar.
