Bridget Hayman is Communications Director at Access Living. While heading end-to-end communications and media relations for the organization, Bridget also leads Access Living’s consulting and training services, integrating disability inclusion best practices into the diversity efforts of companies, nonprofits and foundations.
As a wheelchair user herself, Bridget is committed to elevating stories from the disability community each day to ensure that disabled people are heard at every table where decisions are made, and that they have the supports needed to live full independent lives.
Before joining the Access Living team, Bridget held communications roles at Easterseals National, Valence Health, the American Dental Association, Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Illinois, Edelman Public Relations and the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago.
Bridget is currently in the 2022 Leadership Greater Chicago Signature Fellow class. She is a Commissioner for Serve Illinois; a member of the We Will Chicago Advisory Council; a communications advisor for the Presidents’ Council on Disability Inclusion in Philanthropy; a member of the Chicago Transit Authority’s ADA Advisory Committee; a 2018 University of Chicago Civic Leadership Academy Fellow; a 2017 Disability Lead Fellow; and a Rotary Ambassadorial Scholar.
