People with disabilities have the right to safe, healthy places to live

Access Living’s Disability Rights Action Coalition for Housing (DRACH) fights for equitable, sustainable housing developments that meet the needs of low-income households, people with disabilities, and other historically marginalized groups.

In addition to grassroots advocacy, DRACH members teach organizations and the broader community about the need for housing accessibility.

DRACH works with coalitions throughout Chicago, including the Chicago Housing Initiative and Lift the Ban, which seek to expand and protect subsidized or affordable rental housing. Currently, DRACH is campaigning for accessibility in Chicago homeless shelters.

Get Involved with DRACH

  • Join DRACH in protesting, advocating, and speaking to legislators
  • DRACH meets virtually throughout the month. Check the date of the next DRACH meeting here.
  • DRACH is open to all; members are people with disabilities, people experiencing homelessness, and community allies.
